Update from The Search Committee – 3/14/18
Wednesday, March 14, 2018
Dear Oakwood Community,
First, thank you to all who completed the survey sent out on Monday, February 26th. We had a very high rate of participation and your input is helping to frame the position statement for prospective candidates.
Our search consultants spent two wonderful days on campus collecting information and engaging with Administrators, faculty, students, alumni, parents, and trustees. They gathered from these discussions a more in-depth perspective of our school, heard about some of the qualities we’d like to see in our next HOS, as well as some of the opportunities and challenges our community sees on the horizon. The highlight of their 2-day visit may have been lunch with the 6th graders, who enthusiastically shared their thoughts and opinions!
Here are a few things that will take place between now and June:
- Results of the survey will be read and compiled;
- The Head of School position statement will be prepared by RG-175 and approved by the Search Committee;
- Once approved, the position statement will be widely circulated throughout the independent school world;
- A group of prospective candidates will be identified for initial evaluation by the Search Committee.
This is a very exciting time and the search process is underway! We are confident that Oakwood will attract dynamic and qualified candidates and we look forward to sharing more as this process unfolds.
