Update from the Search Committee – 6/15/18
Friday, June 15, 2018
Dear Oakwood Community,
Congratulations to the Class of 2018, and to Margo Long on her retirement!
As our year comes to a close, we want to provide a brief update regarding our Head of School search. Everything outlined in our March update is on track and the Search Committee will continue to meet regularly throughout the summer.
The position statement has been in the marketplace since March and our search consultants are currently interviewing potential candidates. Once the initial group of candidates is finalized, the Search Committee will meet in mid-July to review candidate dossiers. A group of six to nine semi-finalists will be identified at this meeting and these individuals will travel to Los Angeles in August for in-person meetings with the Search Committee and search consultants. Following the August meetings, two to three finalists will be selected and return to Los Angeles in the fall. During September and October, the finalists will be scheduled for meetings at Oakwood with faculty, students, administration, parents, and trustees. This will be everyone’s opportunity to hear from the finalists, before one candidate is recommended to the Board of Trustees.
Here’s wishing all of you a relaxing and refreshing summer break!
